Everybody likes seeing their Google Search Ad showing up - precisely as they hope someone from their target audience would. Sometimes that works just as expected, and sometimes the ad doesn't appear.
Why Google Search Ads don't show up:
Below are the five most common reasons you aren't seeing your Google Search ad. It could be for a single reason - or multiple reasons.
- The device you're using to search with is not inside the designated geographical location (E.g., district, city, state, or zip code.).
- Your ad did not make a bid for the particular keyword term that you used when trying to see your ad.
- You're using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), causing your IP address to be somewhere other than your actual physical location. Many consumer VPNs also provide an ad-blocking service to remove Google Search ads from your results.
- The IP address assigned to your computer may be new to the area, and Google Ads hasn't received an update indicating its new location.
- You're utilizing a (relatively) low budget for your campaign and spreading it out over many days. Having a low "budget per day" will decrease the number of times you win a bid for a particular keyword.
- You have searched for your ads repeatedly. Google is excellent at recognizing repetitive searches and will make constant adjustments to offer the best user experience on its platform. If they notice continued searches over a short period (and the user has already seen that ad for that search), they will flag the ad as irrelevant for that particular user and not display it for them.
One of the incredible features of Google Ads is the ability for the system to dynamically change your bid based on whether or not that particular user is likely to click on your ad and complete your desired action. As a result, Google may not show your ad to someone if they think it will go unused.
Google may also not display your ad to you if another advertiser has bid a higher amount than you have.
