The Ad Library is Facebook's most comprehensive ads transparency surface that provides a view of ads across all of their apps and services. It contains all active ads running across all of their products and will provide additional information about ads about social issues, elections or politics, including spend, reach, and funding entities.
The ads will show up in the Ad Library whether they're active or inactive and will be visible for seven years.
Facebook's Ad Library is:
- Free and available for anyone to use.
- Searchable. You may search using any term, name, or Facebook page.
- Informative. In addition to containing a few trackers, including the Presidential, House, and Senate trackers, the Ad Library Report provides data about advertisers' spending, geographical spend, and more.
When viewing a Page's active ads, ad creative and copy will be displayed. You can click on "See Ad Details" to see additional information, such as:
- Status: Whether the ad is active or inactive.
- Disapproved Notice: If an ad was active at some time but then became disapproved, it will show as such in the Ad Library.
- Impressions: A range will be shown instead of an exact number.
- Amount Spent: A range will be shown instead of an exact number.
- Demographic Information: People will be able to see the age and gender percentage breakout.
- Location: Information about the geographical location(s) where the ad was viewed.
You can view and use the Ad Library at https://www.facebook.com/ads/library.
