The Video Completion Rate, also known as the "VCR," is the percentage of video plays (starts) that make it all the way to the end.
This metric can also be referenced as, "View Through Rate (VTR)."
Calculation:
Video Completions / Video (Start) Plays X 100
Example:
In this example, we'll say that a video had the "play" (start) button clicked twice.
User #1 only plays it for a few seconds before closing out their web browser.
User #2 plays the video all the way to the end.
With this information, the Video Completion Rate would come out to 50%. 1 "video completion" divided by 2 "player starts."
